Art Deco Liqueur Decanter Set – 925 Sterling Silver Overlay Glass, Skyscraper Stopper

Step into the glamour of the Art Deco era with this remarkable liqueur decanter set in clear glass and 925 sterling silver overlay. Crowned by an extraordinary stepped skyscraper stopper, the decanter is accompanied by five matching footed liqueur glasses, each decorated with sweeping sterling silver leaves and floral motifs.

The architecture of the set is particularly beautiful. Concentric tiers transform the substantial glass stopper into a miniature Art Deco skyscraper, while the shaped, subtly lobed foot of the decanter and the stepped pedestal bases of the glasses continue the geometric rhythm throughout the set. Fine horizontal silver bands emphasise these architectural lines and create a striking contrast with the flowing botanical decoration.

Dating approximately to the 1930s, the design brings together the bold geometry of Art Deco with the more naturalistic floral influence of Art Nouveau. One of the five glasses still retains its original label marked ARG 925 / BQ, identifying the decorative overlay as 925 silver.

Complete with its original stopper and five matching glasses, the set has wonderful presence when displayed together.
