Vintage Alabaster Mushroom Lamp-Streamline Art Deco-1930s–1940s Table Lighting

This alabaster mushroom lamp reflects the later phase of the Art Deco period, where the Streamline Moderne movement introduced softer, more aerodynamic forms in place of earlier geometric designs. Likely of Italian origin, it shows the shift toward smooth, rounded silhouettes and a more restrained, modern expression.

Carved entirely from alabaster, the lamp reveals its character when lit. The stone gently diffuses the light, bringing out its natural veining and creating a warm, atmospheric glow. The compact mushroom form, combined with the solid stone base and balanced proportions, gives the piece a quiet but distinctive presence.

The lamp has been sympathetically rewired for safe modern use, including a new cable, inline switch, and E14 fitting. The original twisted fabric-covered cable and early Bakelite plug are included with the lamp, preserving an authentic element of its early construction.
